Injury Report
Rudy Gobert will miss Saturday's game against the Spurs due to a back issue, marking his first absence of the season. Joan Beringer could draw the start, with Trey Lyles in line for additional minutes. Gobert is considered questionable for Monday's game against Milwaukee.
Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are both out for Sunday's game against the Clippers as Golden State manages the first leg of a back-to-back. De'Anthony Melton and Brandin Podziemski will carry more of the offensive load for Curry, while Graham Ike, Al Horford, and Charles Bassey will help cover Green's absence. Both veterans are expected to return Monday against the Suns.
Dejounte Murray will not play Saturday against the Hawks after missing the game due to the birth of his son. Bennedict Mathurin is expected to enter New Orleans' starting lineup, with Jeremiah Fears handling primary ballhandler duties.
Jalen Johnson left Saturday's 121-99 loss to the Pelicans in the third quarter with an ankle injury and did not return. He finished with 13 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. His status heading into Monday's game against the Pacers is worth watching.
On the long-term front, Cason Wallace underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder and will miss most if not all of the season. Jalen Williams also had surgery to address a fractured left fibula and ankle ligament reconstruction following an injury against the Clippers. Combined with Chet Holmgren missing 8-10 weeks with a patellar tendon tear, Oklahoma City is facing a significant injury crisis to start the season.
Standout Performances
Victor Wembanyama put on a dominant performance Saturday as San Antonio topped Minnesota 121-111, finishing with 43 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 6 blocks. The showing underscored why Wembanyama remains one of the most uniquely skilled players in the league.
Darius Acuff Jr. caught fire in Sacramento's loss to Memphis, erupting for 38 points on a barrage of three-pointers to go along with 5 rebounds and 5 assists, though it wasn't enough to prevent a blowout defeat.
Notable Results
Memphis dominated Sacramento 136-105 in a convincing blowout, handing the Kings a lopsided loss despite Acuff's big night. Cleveland was equally dominant, routing Milwaukee 136-111 in another blowout result. Both winning teams posted 136 points, a sign of strong offensive showings across the league Saturday.
