Injury Report
The biggest news surrounds Anthony Edwards, who will undergo arthroscopic right knee surgery and is expected to miss up to two months. The Timberwolves star could be sidelined until 2027, with Ayo Dosunmu likely stepping into the starting lineup. LaMelo Ball, Jaden McDaniels, and Jonathan Kuminga are all expected to see bumps in usage.
Two Thunder cornerstones remain in dire straits. Jalen Williams is out following surgery for a dislocated left ankle and fractured fibula, while Cason Wallace has been diagnosed with a torn left shoulder labrum and is expected to miss most, if not all, of the season. Combined with Chet Holmgren missing Wednesday's game with knee tendinitis and Alex Caruso out with an ankle sprain, Oklahoma City's depth will be tested significantly.
Jaren Jackson Jr. has been diagnosed with a torn MCL in his right knee and faces a 6-to-8 week absence, creating a major void in Utah's frontcourt. Alperen Sengun has been ruled out for Houston's Wednesday game with low back soreness, his first missed game of the season, with Tari Eason and Clint Capela in line for added minutes.
Rui Hachimura has been ruled out for Wednesday's Lakers-Clippers matchup with left quad soreness, while Tyrese Haliburton is questionable for Indiana against Philadelphia with left hamstring tightness — a new concern for the Pacers star, who has yet to miss a game this season. Ben Sheppard is also scheduled for meniscus surgery Wednesday, further depleting Indiana's backcourt.
Standout Performances
Jayson Tatum delivered a thriller, pouring in 40 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds as Boston held on to beat Brooklyn 125-124 in overtime. Luka Doncic matched that energy with 41 points, 9 assists, and 5 rebounds in a losing effort for the Lakers against Portland.
Karl-Anthony Towns was dominant on the glass, finishing with 27 points and 20 rebounds in New York's win over Detroit. Teammate Josh Hart chipped in with 5 steals. In San Antonio, Victor Wembanyama recorded 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks, while Julian Champagnie erupted for 26 points, draining 8 or more threes in the Spurs' blowout win over Sacramento.
Notable Results
Boston escaped Brooklyn with a 125-124 overtime win behind Tatum's heroics. San Antonio handled Sacramento convincingly, winning 130-103 in a dominant team performance. Portland upset Los Angeles 136-129 in a high-scoring affair, handing the Lakers a loss despite Doncic's 41-point night. New York defeated Detroit 111-97 to round out yesterday's four-game slate.
