Injury Report
The Mavericks are dealing with a mounting injury list as the season winds down. Kyrie Irving has been officially ruled out for the remainder of the year as Dallas — sitting at 19-35 — pivots toward a rebuild. Irving will use the extra time to fully recover from his torn ACL and will hold a $42.42 million player option for 2027-28. Dereck Lively II will also undergo season-ending surgery on his right foot, with Daniel Gafford and Dwight Powell stepping in behind Anthony Davis at center.
Several teams are shutting down players with the regular season nearly finished. The Bulls confirmed that Josh Giddey, Guerschon Yabusele, Nick Richards, Jalen Smith, and Anfernee Simons will all sit out Chicago's final two games. Yabusele suffered left shoulder and elbow sprains in Thursday's win over Washington. On the Minnesota front, Kyle Anderson has been ruled out due to illness, with Terrence Shannon and Naz Reid expected to pick up extra minutes.
Two key playoff performers are in doubt heading into Game 6 action. Franz Wagner has been officially ruled out for Orlando with a right calf strain, and Jonathan Isaac is listed as doubtful with a left knee sprain — leaving the Magic shorthanded. For Toronto, Brandon Ingram has been downgraded to doubtful for the Raptors' do-or-die Game 6 after logging only 11 minutes in Game 5. Kevin Durant remains out for Houston, though a return in a potential Game 7 has not been ruled out.
Tobias Harris is trending in the right direction after posting 23 points, eight rebounds and two steals in Wednesday's win, though he remains questionable for Game 6 against Orlando.
Standout Performances
Karl-Anthony Towns delivered a dominant all-around performance in Wednesday's blowout, recording a triple-double with 12 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and three steals as the Knicks routed the Hawks 140-89.
Notable Results
The New York Knicks demolished the Atlanta Hawks 140-89 in a stunning blowout, a margin of 51 points that stands as the most lopsided result of the day. Towns led the way with his triple-double as New York showed no mercy in what was a dominant wire-to-wire effort.
